You&#8217;ll find giant cacti, wild orchids, iguanas, parakeets and, if you&#8217;re very lucky, the Cura\u00e7ao white-tailed deer, a subspecies found only here.<\/p>\n<p>The star attraction is <strong>Mount Christoffel<\/strong>, which rises to about <strong>372 meters (1,220 ft)<\/strong>. Modest on paper, but a proper hike: allow around 1 to 1.5 hours to climb, with a fairly steep final stretch where you&#8217;ll need your hands. Trails lead to several <strong>bokas<\/strong>, small coves carved into the limestone.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Boka Tabla<\/strong>: the most famous, with a cave you can climb down into to watch \u2013 and hear \u2013 the waves rush in with an impressive roar.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Boka Pistol<\/strong>: here the waves are forced through a narrow rock channel, sending up bursts of spray with a sound like a gunshot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The beaches in these coves are also nesting sites for sea turtles. <strong>No swimming here<\/strong>: the sea is far too
